OUR HISTORY

Swedru All Blacks United Football was established in the year 1945, October 25. This is just after the end of Second World War on September 2, 1945.
During the Second World War, the Ghanaian soldiers engage their counterpartsa from the West in recreational activities. Some of these Ghanaian soldiers were indigenes of Agona Swedru and its environs whose interest in football was very high and decided to form a community football team after World War II.

This community football team attracted a lot of attention due to their heroics and as a result caught the attention of then Queen-mother and Regent of Agona Swedru, Nana Ayepua Ababio II. The Queen-mother offered to organize and run the team professionally and the players consented to it because, before that, Nana Ayepua Ababio II has been supporting them financially and logistically.

On Thursday, October 25, 1945, the club was duly registered as SWEDRU ALL BLACK FOOTBALL CLUB and they chose the White and Black as their colors whiles using bone & skull as their emblem. The players chose these colors and emblem to give remembrance to the military men ( the blacks against the whites) they use to engage in recreational activities and thier fellows who died during WW2. The motto of the team is Deeds and not words and whenever the team is about to start a match, they group at the center of the field and chant ’ Ozii, Ozaa’.
